No, no, not the divider in a bowl!! I have a tank for my first betta, and I wanted to divide it for my second betta to share with my first, but my mom made me keep my second betta in a bowl instead of buying the divider for the tank that my first betta lives in because the store people said they would fight through the barrier... Which I didn't get.

They cant fight..but yeah they will flare through the divider

Would the flaring hurt them in any way, I know flaring doesn't hurt but if they constantly do it will it damage them in any way? Could I just put some live plants covering the divider to block their veiw from each other?

I mean..there is mixed opinions about it. Some say that after a while they wont care and will stop flaring as much. Some say a lot can do bad but others say that it doesnt matter. Im not really sure

Hm, okay. Thanks so much for helping me out. I hate keeping my 2nd betta in a bowl while my first enjoys his lovely tank. I think dividing it would be a good thing. If they were really having issues with each other I could probably just plant some plants across the barrier to minimize the time they see each other.

You could make a DIY divider and use black mesh so they dont easily see eachother:
