!!help!!

Just got a new plant in my tank... A plastic grassy one. My betta like go in it and stuff but when he gets to the top of it. It seems like it pokes him and then he swims away real fast like !!OW!!. Give me some advice plz!! Should I stay away from plastic or what?? He likes the plant. Can i make it safe for him some how??

Plastic = bad, can rip their fins
Silk/material = good
Live = fantastic

Plastic plants are ussually a no for bettas especially ones with sharp or pointy edges. I would get ones with fabric leaves or live plants.

Did you try the pantyhose test? if not then run a piece over the plastic plant and if the material scags or rips then you shouldn't use the plant because it will most likely do the same to your betta
