Adding Salt/cycling

i have been trying to add aquarium salt to my tanks, and was just wondering, it says on the directions 1 tblsp. for every 5 gallons. does this sound about right?

also, when would i want to add more on the next water change? would it be on the fourth cycle after the salt was added?

Why do you want to add salt? Betta don't need long term salt and it can cause kidney damage and resistant pathogen/parasite from wrong dosages and duration.....

Aquarium salt and Epsom salt are great products for short term treatment in salt tolerant fish- when used in correct dosage and duration.
