Well there's a lot to breeding and it can be an expensive hobby. There are many methods you can use to breed. Do some research and use what's best for you. Good luck!

It can get expensive even at the pet level. Food, tanks and the males need their own spaces. Two liter soda bottles with tops cut off can work.. but they need a lot of water changes. Doing one spawn if you like fish and have the time to put into it is not all that expensive as far as hobbies go. And there are a lot of sites that give good general information on how to get started breeding.

If you want to breed, platies. They are impossible to not breed. They even breed before my guppies, swordtails, and mollies!

hey dude, for my experience its not expensive to breed and to raise fry, but you'll need to have an extra time for them. for the set up, here is my set up.

*A 15 gal. water barrel cut in half or any large plastic containers will do
*A Styrofoam cup cut in half.
*some water plants
*A lamp.

And thats it, my set up worth without a penny spending on it..just be resourceful.

For raising the frys, this is the time you spend some money for the frys food and more extra time monitoring them. follow this thread:

hope this will help you through out. GL!
