Betta Game-Bloodworm Tug-o'-war

So earlier today I had an idea to play a game with my betta. I found the longest, straightest bloodworm in the container, and picked it up lengthwise with tweezers. I dipped it quickly to get Sonic's attention, then lifted it up. He swam to where it had been. I then put a tiny bit of the end in the water. He bit it and pulled and pulled and pulled. He eventually broke it out of the tweezers and enjoyed his snack. Anybody else play this game with their bettas?

I do this too. =P It's so cute! Sometimes I make Euphie jump for his bloodworms, but he's the only one out of my 3 that will lol but they all play "tug-of-war" with their bloodworms. :)

Is there some way to get him to jump? I've wanted to see if he will do this but I don't know what I should do exactly.

If you've had him for a while, and he's used to you and knows you, hold the bloodworm a little bit above the water, and he might jump to get it. It depends on how food-motivated your betta is. Euphie's just a big pig, and eats anything and everything.

I got Neptune to start jumping after I started soaking his pellets. When they are wet, they sorta stick to your fingers. I wasnt trying to get him to jump but one day as i was going to feed him he started jumping to get it. He now nips at my fingers thinking food will fall from them whenever I do anything with the tank.
