Does anybody know why my betta tried to kill himself luckily he failed

Today my betta Nijigasumi jumped out of a small gap in the lid of the tank the gap was only about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long and i have a feeling it was heat cause today was very hot and i practically turned of the heater and it still maintained 27 degrees celsius plz reply

27 degrees would be the ideal temp for a betta, so he was definitely not too hot...

Bettas have a pesky habit of doing that, sometimes if their water conditions aren't good. My girls always jump for food, a few times they've ended up jumping out of the tank in the process.

Just make sure all the gaps are closed off so he doesn't try it again.
