The bolt of lightning hit the top of the wooden barn's roof. Hail attacked like someone was throwing baseballs at the door. "Mother, the storm is not getting better, in fact, it is getting worse" meowed Tally, a female calico cat who was in my mom's third litter. I stared at my mom. I could smell the fear coming off her body, which made me worried myself. It was possible that a tornado could form with this type of weather. "Kits, go in the tornado shelter" meowed mom. We all did what she said. I could hear the rain letting go a bit, but this could mean a tornado is forming at this very second. The lights began to flicker, and the cows started to cry. We were all in the shelter, safe and sound.
I heard a roar in the distance... Tally was right. I heard things snap, crack, and fall. The barn was getting destroyed! I heard wind pound on the metal door of our shelter. It did not open, but the noise was enough to scare me and my siblings. After twenty seconds, I heard nothing. The winds started to slow, and the rain started to lighten... Sunlight shone on the door. Had the tornado gone away?
