I may have broken my cycle

Archie's 2.7(ish) gallon was finally cycled but I couldn't stand all the crud the turkey baster couldn't get off the bottom so I took him out and put him in a 1g full of siphoned tank water, took his old tank and swished all the substrate/decor/filter cartridge in the tank water before dumping it and filling it with new dechlorinated water (nothing touched chlorine) plus I added a full dose of "beneficial bacteria" (made my cycle speed up and go 5x faster) but I still feel like I probably broke my cycle, did I? Even if I did I don't regret it I hated all the teensy scum particles and the filter had a layer of snot begging to be removed.
Basically I did a very intense 70% water change.

It shouldn't have killed the BB, but you'll probably get a mini-cycle...that was a pretty intense cleaning to do all at once. Usually you want to clean the substrate, or clean the filter cartridge, but not both...

I was only planning on doing the substrate until I saw the filter, yuck! Took a lot of willpower not to scrape it clean. I was super careful not to let anything touch chlorine though and nothing was out of water for more than 10min

Also it's a carbon filter if that matters

I don't think you broke the cycle. worst case scenario you killed some of the BB and your tank will go through a mini cycle. You didnt use chlorinated water in your filter or gravel, so your ok.

Ok, i know i didnt kill all the bb but i was worried maybe i took out too much, if i had to do another fish in cycle on that tiny tank... well with only a month till he gets a new home it wouldn't be worth it

You're fine. Dose Prime @ 1-drop/gal/day for a week just for peace of mind. That's in addition to the 2-drops/gal of tank size with water changes.

Well 2 days later I got nitrites again =( but I'd rather have nitrite than ammonia, and I do have some nitrates, no ammonia
