Ok spawning is complete after 2 hours. Removed the female and we're left with a good clutch of eggs.

Yup it's the same pair :) 3 weeks after the first spawn. So both spawns have Saturday birthdays :)

Ok things are going well so far. THEY HATCHED!! The male is keeping them in the nest except for a few. Also these fry are really big for new borns. Probably the low temp of 78*-80*F let them develop slower but overall better and healthier.

Kool! i love newly hatched fry they are so cute and i love watching them grow.

Hey MRV i made a sponge filter but it bubbles very rapidly and there was 1 fry that was getting tossed around from it but if i put it on a different slower air pump and nothing happens. How do i fix this problem?

Um it's your gang valve. Just keep adjusting it and adjusting it until you get it right. I don't use filters in my growout tubs. I just do massive daily water changes (9-12 gallons daily on a 16.5 gallon tub).
