Exclamation Tail biter??

Ok, Casanova's going bizzerk! I moved him to his new home (3 gallons) from the community which became a sorority. This morning I thought he was dying because he was laying on the bottom, hardly breathing. But now he looks fine, except for one thing. THERE ARE ENORMOUS RIPS IN HIS TAIL!! They have a little red on the end where they were ripped... I'm SUPER worried!!! Is he a tail biter???? I checked over the whole tank, theres nothing he could have ripped them on!!! It's impossible!!! Plus his bottom fin looks discolored!! I'll add pics in a sec!! HELP! If he is tail biting, how do I stop it??

Sorry the pics look so weird: I had to increase the contrast so you could see, since he's cellophane.

ps. the last one is for the discoloring

Considering picture clarity I'd say he's a tail biter. I have this problem as well. If it was sudden tail biting is probably the case. If it's been gradual and slow diminishing and discoloration of fins and tail over weeks I'd say rot. If it is tail biting I'm afraid there is no cure. =( Sometimes they just like to bite down their beautiful fins. Sad... isn't it?

He may have just stressed over the move.. keep his water clean and it'll heal within a couple weeks. Nettle's done the same thing, he'll be alright if you keep the water clean.

alright... :( It happened over the course of a few hours, so it's not rot. My brother's fish had that so I know what to look for. :( Huh... that totally stinks, though!!! His tail was BEAUTIFUL!!
