The dragon delta I bought on Sat is being quite the finicky eater...He ate 3 pellets in
his temporary cup though when I brought him home.
But in his new tank, he's spitted out all the pellets I've offered. Two different brands.
I offered dried brine shrimp, no dice. Spits it out.
I put some pellets in his betta log, hoping they would soften & sink where he'd find them...they look untouched.
My other 2 devour the offerings...What else can I do? :-(
Just give him some time...hes probably settling in, it's only been a couple days
Try pre-soaking his pellets in a little tank water until they're nice and soft....i do that regularly for everyone now, it reallymakes things easier for them to eat and helps reduce bloating.
Also, ditch the freeze-dried and get frozen....freeze-dried has very little nutritional vlaue and can cause bloat easily.
Just keep offering him food, remove any he doesn't eat, and eventually he'll eat
Haha, sure thing!
Yeah, freeze-dried is tricky....you CAN feed it, but it can be a hassle since you have to really pre-soak it properly and it really has very little nutritional value...so I reccomend frozen instead. All up to you though if you want to go through the hassle with freeze-dried or not
Cool xD Yeah, I've found its so much easier for my fish to eat the pellets when they're pre-soaked.
Well this morning he ate like, 1/2 a pellet...and he had built a very big bubble nest that night too...He's super active, all jacked up LoL and a flair monster. I'll get some live food, he surely can't resist that right?
LOL xD Well that's progress! Haha, live food is awesome, but you want to get him used to pellets first before you feed him anything else....otherwise you'll NEVER get him to eat pellets
