Odd Colouration Change

Pics:
http://www.bettafish.com/album.php?albumid=22546

I noticed last night that it looks for all the world like Fritz had a bit a bleach dropped on him. his scales are fine, no Fuzziness, and he ate well this morning, but he has a bleached out spot that wasn't there two days ago. I checked his fins for rot, but no.

Any ideas as to what is going on!?!

His blue has shifted from Dark blue to light green randomly before but I just asumed it was the light. is this a marbling or do I need to order some medication?

He could be marbling. Do you have any clearer pics? I could be wrong about the marbling thing but that's just my guess

Hmmm...a clearer picture would be the only way that I could give a real opinion. I agree that is a very odd situation.

Alas, I couldn't get a clearer pic. combo of hand shaking (stupid Lupus), Fritz being Camera shy and a so-so camera. he is still alive, still active and still eating. no fuzzy, no damage and it is spreading. He has 2 cories in his tank with him* (He is the only betta I trust with tank mates) and they are also fine.

I guess it is just a keep an eye on him.

*they were in our 30 gallon until My husband got a African Squeaker catfish.

Could you take a short video of him and just set the tablet on the tank stand and lean it up against the glass? That way no shaking, and maybe if you drop some food in right in front of the camera, you can get some good views of him.

Hi Thothgirl.. it is possible, though rare, for a fish to undergo such a change.
There is no need to jump to any treatments if he is acting normal...

Here is an example of such an occurrence where a dark blue fish turned bright yellow (please no posting in this thread as it's quite old):

I have no clear cut answer to Thothgirl's betta issue. It does seem like it may be marbling. But without more photos hard to tell.

But WOW! That is one amazing betta in that old post. Absolutely gorgeous.

I never did get good images. however, it is him colour changing. it is following a similar pattern to the one shown this that thread and he is fine. it seems he is turning a rust colour and vivid blue. will post pics when he stops hiding in his cave.
