My new little girl

Well, went to the biggest aquarium store around here for some advice about using sand instead of gravel (still interested in any info if anyone feels inclined!), and saw this little girl! Am planning to start a sorority as soon as we move (hopefully we close on the 24th yay). Will have room to set up my 30g then! She does look a little bloated to me, but not sure if females have more of a barrel chest??

LuBu is all excited, put her next to his tank :p. Course he got tired and retreated into his man cave...

she is very cute she looks alittle bloated hard to tell because my girls are alittle bigger in that area but if she is swimming good and active she should be ok if not you can try and only feed her alittle once a day and see what happens i had to do that with one of mine and she is doing really well now if you have any ? you can send me a message but there are alot of other here that know more then i do.

She could be filled with eggs (: Fast her for a couple days, see if it goes down. If not, she's probably just egg-y. She's very pretty, congrats!

Well she seems to be doing great, although she is extremely skittish - not at all like LuBu was when I got him! They see each other through the glass every once in a while and LuBu gets all fluffed up and struts around, it is cute.

He does love his little 'man cave'. I swear he knows what time of day it is too, around 7pm every night he goes in there to sleep, and doesn't come out until morning rolls around :p. Even got him one of those floating logs, but he could care less as long as he has his cave.

she's adorable :D

I have a tank with sand as the subsrate. It's easy to keep, but you can't exactly gravel vac it. I use a turkey baster to suck the stuff off the sand daily, and once a week before I do my water change I turn off my filter to swirl the sand around with my hands because it will stir up mulm and get rid of any gas pockets forming and then I do my water change.
