Question Anyone have a Kindle?

I'm really considering getting a Kindle for my birthday. The new one is only $139! I was wondering if anyone had one or has used one before and what you think of it. Is it weird to change from physical books to electronic? Oh and if I have internet at my house the Wi-Fi is fine right? I don't need Wi-Fi + 3G? I actually have no idea what the differece is... haha

I couldnt read books like that, it would really mess with my eyes. And I really like owning physical books.

but with that said, my uncle has had one for years and LOVES it.

I've thought about that too, would it be like looking a computer screen though?

I always thought it would be. If I sit on a computer too long reading I feel sick almost and my eyes are all fuzzy.

I have one. I LOVE it. I have a walk in closet FULL of shelves of paperbacks and I just ran out of room. I thought I would miss my books but I don't really notice I'm reading a Kindle. I'm a migraine sufferer, so I'm sensitive to monitors and multiple light sources. I've never gotten a headache reading my Kindle. It's just as easy on my eyes as print. It's nothing like a computer screen. There's no backlight at all. I use a book light at night just like I used with my regular books.

Wifi works fine. That's what I have. Don't expect to surf the internet on it too much (it's very basic and can be SLOW) but getting books takes seconds. Navigating the Kindle store is easy.

My only advice and bad experience with it is this: Never leave it on the floor. Ever. I left it on the floor under laundry, stepped on it, and cracked the screen. I had to get a new one.

I also own a kindle and it doesn't have a screen light so you have to keep lights on when reading, unfortunatly, but it does help with headaches I'd imagine, since I've never gotten one reading mine.

There's no color, it's all in black and white, and no flashy movements. I reccomend getting one!

ummm the Kindle has something called e-ink. It's like having a paper book. No worries on the backlighting (which is terrible).
I have the first gen Kindle and love it. I love that the first gen has an SD slot (not sure if the newer ones do) so if I have books in the right format, I can read them on there too.

Got one. Love it. I used to read my eBooks in my iPod Touch. Never again!
