my red crowntail edge is curly

my new red crowntail betta has curly-ish edge.. (like a hook-like)
guys is this normal? it looks nice tho...

curling fins can be a sign of either bad water quality or that your water is too hard. Crowntails can be difficult if you're water isn't soft.

My mubo has curled rays but he came like that bc of the horrible water conditions he was in....

that's probably the issue. Petstores don't exactly have good water params. what tank size is he in currently, what additives do you put in the water?

As for softening water, you can naturally do so with driftwood or peat. First, find out how soft or hard the water in your area is by contacting where you get your water from. when/if you decide to do a divided ten gallon for your boys, you could buy or get some driftwood and peat, and that'd help some :)

Also, curled fins don't hurt them at all (: They honestly don't care whether their fins are straight or not. It's more of a owner preference. If you don't mind the look, then don't panic.

I Don't mind mubo's rays being curled... I was just happy to bring him home and give him a great environment ....
