its defo worth it! unless you have a huge tank with plants etc obviously you need gravel to make it look right, but if your changing water its the just the better option... i can monitor their poo for health etc...in case of disease i dont have to boil out gravel or worry stuff is in it that can cause trouble later... it just gives me a lil more control. and tbh i dont think it looks bad at all....
