Black in between scales...

Hey everyone. Nadador has something else going on.

A few days ago I noticed black coloration in between his scales. His fins are fine, and he is acting fine too. I lowered his temperature from 84(it has been that for at least 2 months) to 82 because I thought it would be easier for the heater to reach that since it has been getting colder.

He is in a 3 gallon tank and I do 100% water changes every 3 days. But I was busy with being sick and finals and pushed it to almost 6 days :( I did check the ammonia and it was still at 0ppm. I did a 25% WC anyway.

Also, his aponogeton plants were starting to die, I took them out.

I did a water change and added aquarium salt.

What is this and what should I do about it?

I think he is marbling!!!! :) "Marbling" is a quality that not all fish have, it is caused by a certain gene in their DNA that causes them to change color over time. So all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show! By the way if you can i would LOVE to see pictures! (besides the cute avatar awwww! :3)

Really?? He is just a plain ole red crowntail from walmart.

I was thinking that is could be maybe body rot. lol, I don't know.

I will try to get pictures up. These dumb final exams are ruling my life. lol!
