Whoever said fish were supposed to be relaxing?

Since I had done all my house chores yesterday, I decided to fix up the girls' tank in my bedroom. Since I planned on draining out the whole tank to work on it, I had to catch the two girls and remove them.

I put them into two little kritter keeper type containers that were maybe about half a litre each. One was missing its lid so I put a piece of polystyrene over the top to keep my girl in. There was a gap of maybe a mm or less in the corner. Well I was sorting out my tank, moving rocks, getting the substrate back in and re-planting my plants, when I decided to go and check on my girls. Well one of them was there, but the other container with the polystyrene on top had nothing in it.

The carpet in my room is light grey, and since she is a very pale coloured Cambodian, it took me about ten minutes and a torch to find her. She'd slipped down the back of my main tank holding shelf and after managing to drag all of its about 100 kilograms away from the wall I somehow squeezed in and scooped her up in my brine shrimp net.

I put her back in the container and luckily she seemed none the worse for wear. She's now back in her main tank and although her fins are still a little clamped and she looks a bit furry, she was well enough to eat a belly full of brine shrimp and go and investigate all the changes I'd made.

All this, was only two days after one of my females jumped out of her tank because she thought I was going to feed her. I was showing my elderly neighbour the plant I was growing next to her tank and he nearly squashed her because he thought she was a spider.

God, it's enough to turn my hair grey sometimes!

It's only the girls haha. They see me getting the tweezers and little container I use to feed them from, and you'd think they're little sharks. I can't lean over their tanks because they start attacking my arms and hands.
