Yes, the babies grew up and flew off on their own. In July, Molly and McGee came back to the owl box and raised 2 more babies. 4 eggs were laid and they all hatched but 2 died. One got stepped on by Molly and the other one of unknown causes. Maybe dehydration because of the heat.

That's one thing I want to do one day. It's on my 50 things to do in my life list. To try out falconry. I have no clue how I would go about doing that though :P

PearlFish: Just find a falconer to train you, it's easy.

I plan on getting a kestral as my first bird. Small, and easy to care for. I really want a falcon pair, and a gyrfalcon peregrin hybrid.

The people who have the owl box in California also have a kestrel box.

I was not even sure what falconry was untill reading this. Sounds cool and fun, but I am scared of birds so definetly not for me!
