Not eating, lays on the floor alot; Depression?

Just got him last week is he just depressed or is it just cuz he is new? What is it please tell me , I dont want to lose my first giant hm ;(

I got him for my LFS but he just came in with the new shipment of bettas.

Heres a pic, he hasnt been on the ground that much anymore, he has been on the heater for while. He isnt on there all the time, he'll swim around when he gets air then maybe flare at my other betta. What i think it is is that his fins are too heaving and because he is a giant hm its just really hard for him. Could that be it, potentially?
