As I was at walmart yesterday at 2 am .... I randomly entered their fish section and was saddened by what I saw as usual... and I managed to walk out with two new fish. Meet Lion and Zeke two male crowntails.
Lion I believe has ammonia poisoning, his gill covers are always open and gills inflamed red (or whats left of them they look eaten away) and was very lethargic last night when I got him. This morning however he closed one on the right side a little more. Last night I did a 100% water change for both and moved Lion into a shallower container so he could reach the surface easier. This morning Lion seems active and is swimming around in a half open flare but is still breathing heavy and will take breaks at the bottom clamping his fins. They are both at 78 F I will be floating their containers in a heated aquarium soon near 80 F. Zeke on the other hand is is lethargic and swim clamped fined all the time. However I manged to get him to eat. He looks like he'll come around given clean water. Anything else I can do for them?
