New Bettas

These are my two bettas. I'm pretty sure my red one (his name is Camilo) is a crown tail, but is my other one (his name is Chuy) also a crown tail, or what?

Really pretty boys!

But you might want to fast the first fellow for a few days since he looks majorly uncomfortably bloated. Chuy is a pastel/opaque halfmoon doubletail.

Yep, I agree with fleetfish, your first boy looks really bloated. And your second boy is a halfmoon doubletail. They both are beautiful

Why is he bloated? Is he just fat?

So my crown tail is obviously huge. Is he fat or is there something else wrong with him? If it's something else, does anyone know what it is? If he is just fat, how do I slim him down?

It looks like maybe constipation? Just fast him until he poops, then give him some daphnia or frozen bloodworms to get his guts movin'. ;)

"Bloat" is actually an illness with fish especially in a closed system like an aquarium.

So it's an illness although a minor one. You'll want to keep an eye on him. The bloat should go down within two days.

Congrats on your new boys! =] So what's your care routine like and what kind of set-up are they living in? =] Or is there already a thread where you've posted that info? XD Sorry I'm just jumping around the forum. :P

I'm not feeding him. I don't know what happened here. This is kinda old. Camilo died two months after I got him. I don't know why he died. I got him like this from the store and he was pretty fat for a couple of days, and fine for a couple months. He's gone now.
