He looks constipated, I'd stop feeding him and try epsom salt. Don't know what is under his jaw though, it looks weird....

Woah. That bump under his beard looks like it has a worm in it....I'm not 100% certain. Hopefully OldFishLady gets in here to clarify a few things.

It looks uncannily similar to what one of my males had a few weeks ago. He developed a bump in the EXACT same place, and he died within an hour, when it burst. I still don't know what Chaco had ... but it was identical. I hope I'm not scaring you, just my experience. Hope your fella pulls through.

+1 on having some sort of parasite. It also looks like you're over feeding your betta. You can see how swelled up he is in his stomach area.

As for treatment, I'm not sure. You can ask a more experienced member like OldFishLady on what to do about it.

Well, for what my 2 cents is worth, I would say to keep him quarantined if you have a divided tank...you don't want to risk him infecting your other betta with which I'm 99.9% sure is a parasite.

From many betta owner testimonials, I've heard that Jungle Parasite Clear can help get rid of internal and external parasites. Jungle is probably one of the most recommended medications for parasites on multiple sites and forums. If you want to avoid medications, potassium permanganate is another way to treat the tank (a type of salt).

Note: From observation, your betta looks like it might have an anchor worm infestation...maybe the sore is a type of breeding ground which, in my prediction, will eventually burst .

oh man.... i thought hes guna be healed by looking at his fins growing back...
but yesterday night that thing just poped out of nowhere.... dam im scared now.

edit:but that thing under his jaw looks like smooth spiky fine tissue.... (like fine fiberous tissue on your tounge) i dont think its anchor worm

and he does still flares to the females
