He shows no interest in betta pellets, so I am letting him have mysis and brine shrimp. I don't want to stress him too much so we wake up together, I turn on his lights (the hex has a blue LED light that I suppose is meant as "nighttime" but it kinda lights up the gravel like a blacklight would so I don't use it and really does a betta need a nightlight?) and we get moving. Then I thaw him a bit of shrimp and he eats. Then I siphon out 80-85% of the tank, as I don't want to scoop him out and place him under that stress when he still seems so lethargic and sickly, and replace it with new water with aquarium salt. Then he gets the tank lid put back on, the fluorescent lamps on the side turned on (for his plants, not part of the hex) and he's ready for his day.
I can see fin regrowth already, which I'm VERY happy for, but I do wonder when the lethargy will end? There's a difference between lethargic and lazy, and right now he's lethargic. Plus, this fish has figured out how to work the puppy dog eyes, I kid you not. So...anything I can do to help him *feel* better, or do I just keep on keeping on, since his fins ARE regrowing?
