Dalmation Molly, 90degrees off

Hey there, one of my friends in my dorm has unsuccessfully been trying to keep fish in a 10G community tank almost since I've known him. At first, all of his fish died (the only thing wrong with the tank initially was that it wasn't cycled, the fish weren't quarantined and the people at the fish store didn't know enough about good matchups for fish because they ate eachother >,<) and then he got some more and about five are left.
Now one of his favorite fish is his dalmation molly who has a little bit of trouble swimming. I'm worried because for about a month, the poor guy can only swim face down and spends most of it's time hanging out around the gravel.

Could this be SBD as well? It wasn't like this when he bought it and all of the other fish are fine. This fish now only eats sinking pellets for betta fish because it can't get to the top easily :/
