Yeap they are, I might have moved them around or popped them because I decided to put two more Anacharis bunches in just in-case. Thought I better do it now than later in the cycle.

But everything seems to be going okay. My water is a little blue from the powder I couldn't get out (i rinsed forever!) but the filter is collecting it. I can't wait till it's done!

yep that sounds like your on the right track. yeah this process seems to be taking forever, but it will be worth it once it's done to know that my fish will have the best water for them. im doing it in my spawning tank, because even though someone said not to worry about it for a spawning tank, i am going to be using this tank as my real tank after im done raising the betta fry. i plan to have the amazon swords, frogbit, squidward house, filter, heater, light, and substrate on the bottom to feed my plants. i think it's gonna look really nice. but again, this is gonna be only this summer probably until all this is done. oh well, you know what they say, patience is a virtue!

Just got my test kit, I'm on the second day of the cycle now and it says I have about 8ppm ammonia. I'm about to do a nitrite test. I'm not expecting anything yet, just want to try out my new test kit :D

yuep i did the same thing. 8 ppm ammonia, about 0.25 nitrite, and i didnt even test the nitrate, but my ph read 7.8 so i think it might be higher than that.
