Snotty plant seeds?

Looks like a type of fungus... However, the one has roots on it. I would just rinse off the mold with clean warm water and then put them back in the tank. The one may sprout if those are indeed roots (the longer white things).

I have about a 50/50 success rate with these bulbs. They are cheap and indeed worth it in my opinion even if you have a few failures. They grow very fast once they sprout.

^^ Agreed. Mine sprouted within 2 weeks. If you see roots growing out keep them. If no then just throw them away.

Thanks! I was told on another forum that this means their duds. I may put them in another container to isolate them. Is there a chance my fish can get it? Honestly, the only ones I really care about are the lillies since I haven't seen them in stores except as bulbs.

I don't think it necessarily means they are duds. If their squishy and black, I'd chuck them... if not, clean them off and give a little time. I grew mine in a bowl of water on a window sill. Once they started to sprout I put them in my tank. Some never grew and I just easily threw them away.

And what does the very beginning of fin growth look like? I know it's white. Quasi has some white at the tip if his tail that almost looks like a cobweb (it's very thin, but not fuzzy). I hope it's growth, but there isn't enough to show up on a camera.

No that white on his fins is fine it means new growth. Means the water and tank are good. Betta's fins are always growing.

Yeah, I put mine in QT on the window sill. I have 1 cup for the not so snotty and one for the snotty. They ALL smell bad! I do think there are two that will sprout and I am really hoping the lillies will.
