WHAT is my snail doing?!

Ok you guys are going to think I am weird beyond belief, but my mystery snail is doing something really weird and its creeping me out. Ok so he/she (not really sure) will be just stuck to the side of the tank minding his own buisiness, when this long tube like thing will come out like right beside his little antennas. Its probably like 1 1/2 inches long. Its creeping me out, what is he doing? Thanks.

that's perfectly normal, it's like a siphon that they use, sometimes they stick it out of the water and use it as a way to breath.

lol, that would look weird to me too. xD
I have bladder snails that look very weird in one of my tanks, they look like they have a tongue that pokes out of their mouth when eating, and all the while they open and close there mouth in the shape of an O.
Kinda funny, but weird looking.....

Probably EVERY bit of info you will EVER need about a Mystery Snail AKA an Apple Snail.

Yeah thats normal... why crawl all the way to the top when ya can just reach for it XD

My snail doesn't go to the top though. He just does it like halfway up the tank and his siphon doesn't reach the top.

Mystery snails will randomly put out their syphon into the water sometimes. Nothing to worry about.

Mine do it all the time. :)

They use it sometimes to get at something, to funnel in maybe food.
If he isn't going up for air... could mean your tank has enough Oxygen.
Snails are VERY lazy. If they move, but not much... means their healthy as can be.
