Not yet, I'm still setting up. I got him a cave, but it was too big to get into the bowl, so he just has a single plant. I want him to have something to hide in though.

Awesome! And I used a cup for my bettas cave, that worked fine temporarily. Saves money and is something for your betta to hide in. :)

The new guy...built his first bubble nest last night. I haven't even had him 24 hours, so I am very pleased.

Actually, Biscotti built his first last night too, I'm so happy for both of them.

That is excellent! Hehe, my halfmoon betta fish is building his first bubblenest too, and it's rather impressive. I just went into a walmart today and I saw about 20 betta fish, all with the cups dirty and half full, and one betta was already dead in orange water. I am so sick of walmart having bettas. They were all kind of healthy, no Ich or Fin Rot, but still. I feel so bad knowing I can't rescue them. I already rescued 3. Sigh. :/ Will you please post some more pics? Sorry, hehe, I just love your bettas! :D

It is unfortunate, but Chai passed away last night, likely from underlying infection. He had built a bubble nest, and had quite the appetite, so I was quite durprised to find him floating dead in his tank only 3 hours past feeding time. Poor dear.

I'm going back to the pet store tomorrow, after I'm done soaking Chai's tank and ornaments. There was an orange double veil who seemed full of energy, but had some really intimidating fin rot. He may do better, as Chai wasn't too well or energetic when I first got him.

I just read your tribute! That is so sad, I'm sorry. Well, I hope the new guy does much better. And I have only ever seen one DVT in my life, so I hope yours is pretty! :)
