Okay I lost my second Beta Diana a few weeks ago. I had a 5 gallon tank sitting next to my bed that was filled with warm treated water and I was feeling sorry for myself. So I decided why not go to Wal-mart and look at he fishy, not really intending to buy anything. When I got to the section with the little Beta's in cups I noticed they had gotten a few new Crowntail boys. I decided to take a peek. In the end I came home with Absolem. Who I thought was just a blue crown tail Beta, with a black head, and Tweedledum and Tweedledee the Ghost shrimp.
Anyway a week went buy and I noticed something was different about him. Number one being the fact he wasn't the same color as the night I bought him. He's a very shiny green, with blue on the bottom and when he spreads his fins he's got purple and red in them. Is it normal for a fish to change colors? Could it be a sign that he's sick? I can accept that maybe I didn't see the red when I got him cause he wasn't in a flaring mood, but I can tell if I'm getting a green or blue fish!
