Help, Thougths, suggestions?

I am posting for a friend. She has a male betta about 5 years old.

Poopie (fish) has never been really active, hes a lurker type; but now he's sitting on the bottom of the tank, not flat on his stomach, but more on his back fin with his head pointed up. He gulps like he cant breathe, and hes not eating.

Shes changed his water, and his heat is good. But it still really hasn't made a difference.

There is no fungi on him, no shredded fins, no bloat,eyes are good.

I figured if anyone knows you guys would.

That doesn't sound good at all Im afraid, it sounds like hes going to be passing soon.

At five years old, yes; he may pass away soon. Make him comfy and have clean water in the event that he does. <3
