Help

My male's stomach is Huge and he is floating sideways and struggles to swim! what should I do he is in a cycled 5 gallon ammonia is 0 its 74*F nitrates 0 i just changed his water 50% yesterday! he is only getting fed 2 pellets in the morning and one at night

I just realized the clip i used to baffle his filter had rust on it...I just put it in yesterday

He has swim bladder disorder. Up your heat a bit to at least 76* F, and do another water change to get anything nasty out. Do you pre-soak his pellets before feeding and fast for 1 day of the week? Don't feed him for about 3 days, or until he shows signs of improvement. It's possible he's just constipated, though you never know.

Thanks so much he is fine now and back to terrorizing my females which are in the adjacent 10g tank lol

fast him for a few days and be sure not to overfeed, i feed 3 pellets 2 x a day to my larger guys, less to the smaller..
It is Swim Bladder Disorder and can be remedied by fasting and epsom salt baths

he may be prone to chronically getting it, there are threads on treating SBD here, research them if it happens again
