I was at the pet store over the weekend, and was checking out the plastic tank decorations... like the fake tree stumps, logs, castle, etc. I must have looked pretty strange as I was standing there... because I was feeling the decorations all over, inside and out!
I was dishearted to find that not only were some of the hard plastic sculptures a little rough on the outside, they were worse on the inside!
Holes on the sculptures that seemed smooth on the outside were razor sharp on the inside (the plastic edge is turned in when the hole is made). the interior on some of the sculptures were overall rough inside.
I note that the price tags on these plastic sculptures was very resonable and they were well painted and attractive. I found this brand at Petco, Petsmart and Walmart. So its a common (and probably a leading) aquarium decor company its initals are 'PP'.
Does anyone know if these decorations can be sanded smooth successfully (I'm thinking especially on the inside, where the worst surfaces appear to be)?
Does any anyone know of a better aquarium decor source than 'PP'?
