New Fish Owner

I decided to buy a fish about two days ago and now I am getting a little worried that he might be sick. I cannot tell if he is just getting used to his world or not. He is quite a small fish but very beautiful. I feed him one pellet a day of the TOP FIN Color Enhancing Betta Bits but he has yet to find them. He just stays in his little hole that he has found to be dark and doesn't swim very fast. I have put Aqueon Betta Bowl Plus water conditioner in his bowl from the help of another friend of mine who is a Betta owner. Hikaru needs help, from a stupid owner. Please teach me!

Ya start by reading the stickie about care and then u can ask us question's.

But if u just got him two some day's ago, he may be still adjusting like u said..if I remember correctly, it may take some time for some Betta's to get used to their new environment. And same thing for the food, one Betta pellet a day is ok u can even give him two.. let them soak in a spoon of tank water for a few minute's before feeding, he will eat eventually..just keep offering food.
Remember to do ur required water change's and all will be good.

Do you have a heater? Cold makes bettas lethargic. What size bowl is he in and what's your water change schedule? Sometimes things we can't see in the water make our fish sick.

Hello and welcome to the forum.Personally, I don't care for Top Fin pellets because they sink. My first betta would just sit there and watch them fall to the bottom. I would try a floating pellet like Omega1 betta buffet pellets, Aqueon betta pellets or Wardleys pellets. I hope this helps.

I'm using the Micro pellets b/c Brooke is small. She was not eating the regular size pellets at all. I would find them floating on the top of the tank five minutes after feeding time. She does go after the micro pellets and eats them quickly...
