New betta acting strange

I got a new betta today and I bought him from Petco. He is a blue crowntail betta. When I saw him in his cup, he was so beautiful I just had to purchase him. In his cup, he seemed pretty healthy: his fins were not shredded, he was not dying, etc. He was active. However, once I got home, he stopped moving around so much. He'd move every now & then.
So I placed him into a baggy with his water from his cup. Put him into the tank w/ his baggy to adjust the temperatures.

After 20 minutes, I added water from the tank into the bag. Then I waited 10 minutes and added a little more water from the tank. After 30 more minutes, I netted him out of the bag and placed him into the new tank.

It has been 20 minutes. He's at the bottom of the tank and not really moving around. I don't know if he's just frightened of his new home, or if something's wrong.

I'm sorry that this is so long. I don't know what to do and I'm extremely worried.

Sometimes it can take them a few days to adjust to their new environment. What temperature is his water, and what size is his tank?

Some bettas take a while to get used to their new homes. Give him a few days. He's probably just frightened.

Okay, I'll wait a couple days.

But since bettas are labyrinth fish, wouldn't he be going up to the top to breath ? He hasn't been doing that

I would up your tank to 80`F if you can. Humidity will be good for him when he takes a breath of air ^_^
