Hm, 3 to 4 twice a day should be fine with those little things, they're roughly micro-wafer size. If you throw them at the water and they sink they're much less likely to cause bloat and constipation than if they float.

Yeah, 3-4 twice is probably fine, I had those small kinds and did 3 and 3..

I have a Veil Tail (I think, long flowing fins); and just got a Crowntail a few days ago. The Veil Tail eats well, 2-3 pellets 2x a day. The Crowntail wasn't eating well when I first brought him home, but this morning he ate 2 pellets. He's on the small side. I did not know that bettas could/would eat from the bottom. I thought that once the pellets sank, that was it...the fish missed hismeal! I've never seen them do it and I've had several bettas over the years. Interesting, maybe I just always missed them grabbing dinner from the gravel.

Such a great site.......I'm always learning.

Be careful feeding the crowntail, they never know when they're full and I've lost every female crown I've had to "Mr Creosote" deaths.

I think Pica is the correct term.
