Minor fin rot

Okay my betta seems to have minor fin rot when I brought him home from petco. I've been using aquarium salt and betta revive but nothings worked. Any help please would be greatly appreciated. Yes regular water changes are done and the temp is 78ish

How long have you been treating him, how much salt per gallon did you use and what kind of foods fed?

I've been treating him for almost 2 weeks or so. I saw his fin the 3rd or 4th day and treated him then. I use what is required for my tank according to salt box label. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't have the box in front of me. Something like half a teaspoon for 1gallon i think. Food I've been feeding are the hikari something like that betta food and frozen brind shrimp once a week.

To treat for fin rot:

QT the fish in a small container that can be floated in the heated tank to maintain water temp in the 76-77F area-

Pre-mix the treatment water in a 1gal jug of dechlorinated water
Add 1tsp/gal of aquarium salt and tannins either dried oak leaf or IAL
Steep for 1hour before use and shake well
Use this treatment water for 100% daily water changes for 10 days

Nutrition is really important to promote healing and fin growth...fed small frequent meals of a high protein food of several different pellets, flakes, frozen or best yet...live.....

Whats IAL? Where could I find those things or dried oak leafs?

Can I use just regular tap water or drinking water?

Is there any other type of meds I could buy from a LPS?

I only use more natural methods...IAL can be order on line and oak leaf can be found on oak trees....I use the ones in my yard.....

regular tap water is best with added dechlorinator
