What can I do with seashells?

So, my friend got me a bag of seashells (along with some other stuff) from Petsmart as a b-day present, and I'm in a mild dilema. I don't want to hurt my friend's feeling by not using the seashells, but if I do they'll slowly leach minerals and stuff into the water. I really do want to use them- they are stunning, but I don't know how. Lol, I wish I had a hermit crab or something that could use these shells.

Get 1 or a few mystery snails, they are awesome! :D
Seashells can be used for them to provide calcium.

that's a good idea. Maybe, thought I'm a bit paranoid that they'll die on me.

Do you have a precycled tank...?
I have 1 mystery snail, but it wasn't working out with his room-mate so I moved him to his own home. It's not cycled, so I put bamboo in it and i'm doing daily water changes to keep it up (no filter, but I do have an airstone for oxygen). I'll probably add another plant later.

no, but its a ten gallon tank with a java fern, wisteria, and aponogeton bulbs. The only other tank mate would be Tux, so i'd still be able to do a fish in cycle.

I don't know if a mystery snail would do well during a cycle, but they could be in there afterwards. Since you have live plants though it may be possible! C:

I found something:

This guy is cycling his tank with a mystery snail.

Though I forgot, I don't know if the seashells are okay with a bettafish....hmm.
I have seen people with them though.
Here is something about bettas and seashells, the person with the best answer had an answer.
