Two females housed together?

Hi. I just bought my betta female fish yesterday. Both appear healthy, and seem to be eating fine.
When I asked the woman at the store if I could house two females together, she answered yes.
After registering for this website, I've read females need to be housed in groups of four or more in order to create a pecking order. I am now extremely worried.
My pair seem to be getting along OK right now.
Yesterday one female (greeny pink) kept flaring at the other female (dark blue). I kept a very close eye on them, and quickly they appeared to become friends. They would take turns chasing each other around, they ate together, and would just chill next to each other.
They made it through the night fine. This morning the dark blue female was swimming around fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. The greeny pink female won't swim around freekly, she stays at the bottom.
Please help me. Don't yell at me, this is my first time, and I am doing the best I can.

What size tank are they in?

I'm glad they are doing okay now, but I don't think it will end very well in the end. I would suggest separating them, or if you have 10+ gallons, then get a couple more females to distribute the aggression.
They may be doing fine now, but in the end they will likely fight it out for the "top spot."

Ditto to what AngelicScars said.

I would highly recommend separating them as I wouldn't recommend keeping females together for beginners. But if you think you can handle it and have a large enough tank (10g+) then go for it! But if you don't feel comfortable doing that, then if you have a large vase or gallon jar laying around the house you could temp. keep one in that until you can get another tank.

Ps. Don't listen to pet store employees.

I don't know why petstore employees tell customers that 2 females can live together.

Thats what the petco employee said you can keep them both together but NO. One of my 2 feamles jumped to the other and it was not good. Poor Mable.

Bettas143 - Aw. I am sorry about Mable. Is she OK now?
dramaqueen - I was very annoyed at the employee, to say the least. My babies are now much happier in a divided 5.5 gallon tank. :)
