Badly fin damage from fight

I had to do a through cleaning on my 10 gallon divided tank due to this some what mold fungus in the filter and decor.

Well after getting the tank back together I noticed that the divider wasn't fitting the same, I was not positive if it was always like that or it just happened today.

I left my room to eat dinner and came back to Aka my red vt(3.5 yrs. old) pretty much missing all of his fins and laying on the bottom and Ares my new hm was back on his side. So I am guessing Ares was able to squeeze through and back to his side. Cause he was back on his side when I entered the room again. I scooped both up and put them into smaller cups to see the damaged. Well Aka is pretty bad missing all his fins almost and Ares was in good shape is tail fin was split and thats it.

I fixed the divided and put both back in. Aka is still eating and swimming around and Ares is just swimming and flaring. I am hoping Aka will be fine. I just did a major water change today. The parameters are all where they should be and the temp is 80, also I added aquarium salt.

The question is...Is there any thing else I can do to help the healing process?

I'm not sure what else to do to speed up the healing, but I just wanted to say I am glad both of them are okay and not hurt worse. Good luck!

Thank you! Everyone is fine this morning. Aka is pretty slow at moving around and swims a little bit at time then he rests. But that is normal with him. In his old age he has been moving slow and resting alot.

He is almost 4 years old.

Id keep the hurt one in his cup for a bit, to lessen any stress he's feeling after being beat up. Maybe for a day or two. AQ salt is good, watch for infection. Lower the temp a little to discourage bacterial growth and keep the water as clean as you can manage.
If you have a bubbler, shove it in to prevent bacteria that'll nom hurt fins and create a fin rot/other issue. Or anything else that airates, but I cant think of anything else DX

Why would a bubbler help keep away bacteria?

Well I am keeping up on water changes the temp is 76 in the tank and AKA is doing alot better. He is swimming all over and flaring at everything.

Hopefully it stays that way.
