Fin rot??

hey guys! I was just wondering, what does fin rot actually look like? my betta's fin is starting to turn black around the edges. I will have a pic soon. would that be fin rot and how can I cure it?

Black edges can sometimes indicate fin rot or it can also be a sign of new fin growth or just normal pigment......with fin rot-usually you will have some frayed edges, edges that are somewhat curled or crusty looking, sometimes behavior changes like clamped fins, poor appetite but not always...it also varies with reason for the fin rot, how bad it is and how long etc.....pic would help....

If you change your water/clean your tank often, the chance of getting fin rot becomes GREATLY reduced. However, it's still possible. Here's a picture of a case of fin rot.
