Aviv with new tankmates

My new Female Betta "Aviv" is in her 5 gallon. I put 2 panda catfish in with her and now she isnt hiding all the time. She is a lot happier having thier company.

I have a baby in my big 55g and it apears to be either a guppy or a panda catfish. Soo tiny right now…but if it ends up being a panda, when its bigger I will put it in Aviv's tank too.

So happy all my fish are happy. Maybe one day I will put Anton in with her. hehe

If it hatched from an egg it is a panda, if it was born live it was a guppy.

Panda corydoras should be kept in groups of 5 or more, or groups of no less than 3 if other cories are present in groups of 3.

You might need to upgrade your betta tank to a 10g if you are going to keep him with pandas.

5 gallons is too small for pandas, plus like small fry said they need to be kept in larger groups.

I am not able to upgrade yet, but they all are doing real good. The pandas are quite young still. Aviv thinks she's a panda now, she snoops around the bottom of the tank with the pandas picking the rocks…its soo adorable.

I will upgrade her, just unable to $$ right now. I just had to buy a new pump today for my 55g cause the other one broke down. $200.

That is cute about the betta and the cories!

For an upgrade, it could be as low as $14 to go from a 5g to a 10g. Alot of filters that are rated for a 5g tank will go past 10g, which would decrease the (possibly) strong current. Heaters rated as low as 50W would work fine for a 10g. You could add more gravel later if need be.

Also, Petsmart has 10g packages available for $45 for members that includes a heater. That is the best deal I have seen for a new package.
