Heater for 2.5 gallon

Does anyone know of a decent heater that I can use in my 2.5 gallon? The temp in my tank dropped to 70 and I want to keep it at a consistent 78. I saw someplace that they have those heater pads you can put under a small tank, but I'm not sure if those are any good. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any 10w heater should be fine, I use a Marineland Submersible 10w in my 3gal. You could probably also use a 25w adjustable but that may be too powerful for a 2.5 gal, depending on the brand.

I use the 25W Elite Submersible Preset Heater Mini. It is adjustable and works for up to 5 gal. I like it a lot, you have to find the right setting but my tanks stay at pretty much a constant 78-79. Our house gets cold so the tanks sometimes drop to 77 at night but it heats back up during the day.

I have two 2.5 gallon planted tanks and I use a Hydor Theo 25w Adjustable Heater in each one. They're great about maintaining the exact temperature you set them for, even if the room temp drops 10-20 degrees lower than what you want. I highly recommend them. I just set up a third tank and I haven't had a problem with that heater either.

I use a tetra preset 78* 1-3 gallon heater for mine and it works like a charm. It was 11 dollars at walmart.

I use the 25W Elite and love it. I haven't had any luck with any of the tetra heaters.

I use the same heater in my 2.5gal as Briser, and I've never had an issue with it ever. It shuts off when it hits the proper temperature, it doesn't continue to heat like other preset heaters do. It's fairly cheap and a little more widely available compared to they nice hydor theo heaters.

I think it depends on how cold you keep your house. We keep our house cold especially at night. I couldn't get the tetra heaters to heat past 74 unless our house got hotter and then it would make it to 78 maybe. They are collecting dust now and I left some nasty reviews. I even tried the higher wattage ones. No luck! I have also used the Zoo Med pad which worked ok but on really cold nights not so much. We have to have adjustable heaters in our house and higher watts. So it totally depends on your situation and what temp you keep your house.

I use the Tetra HT10 (50 w?) for 2-10 gallon aquariums. Got it at petco for ~$15. The temps in my room can drop to 60-65F at night but it manages to keep the temp in my 2.5 tank a steady 76F. Not perfect but good enough.

I use a 25 watt Marineland stealth visitherm in a 2.5 gallon kritter keeper.
