Ninja in My House!

When I went to the petstore the other day to look for a new fish, there were none on the shelf where the rosebowls of bettas usually are. I asked the staff when the next shipment of bettas was coming and she pointed to the tank beside her. The surface was covered with floating shipping triangles; she said they had veiltails and crowntails. Yay, new fish day! I picked through them and when I found the one, she put it in more water so I could check it over. (I can't believe how little water they are shipped in.)

Here is Ninja. He is far more active than my last (confirming to me Scout wasn't healthy) and is getting comfortable enough that he will come to the front more often when we are there.

(Pardon the watermarks on the tank on this one.)

He is fast when he decides to go.

(And I wish the front corner of the tank didn't cut him off here. There's a leaf on his fin too.)

What a pretty boy! The first picture makes me think he's a VT with strong Delta Backgrounds.

He looks like Wraith! They could be brothers. He's so very pretty. Love the stripes on his face. Wraith has em too. And I love his name. Awesome!

Do you mean the ammonia burns? Those aren't very good for bettas to have, they are caused by an enormous excess of ammonia in the water... but they usually come from poor conditions in pet stores!

I always assumed they were coloring. They're the same iridescent color as Wraith's other markings. Like a peach/pink color.

Yup, sorry! Ammonia burns, but entirely not your fault! Those cups are deadly. *O* Wow, the bettas do look the same!

Aw poor Wraith! I had no idea. I've never seen them before. Do they ever completely disappear? I've had Wraith in a cycled 5 gallon for maybe 6 months now. I noticed they're not as bright as they used to be but you can still kinda seem em, especially when he gets stressed/excited.
(Sorry for thread hijacks. Lol.)

Yes, sorry bout the thread hijack! Your fish rules, LOL. And hmmmm... I'm not sure if they ever go away! All of my bettas have them because they all came from petco, and they've never really disappeared...
