Heater problems?

My tank only stays at like 68 when I woke up. I turned the heater up and it is still pretty hot. Why isn't it going to the other side of the tank? I tested the thermometer on my finger and it went up. I am confused.

Is the heater on 1 side of the tank???? Try putting it in the very middle of the tank in the back. So it doesnt heat one side more than the other.
