Novice Owner..Still Have Some Questions

Alright, so I have had Betta fish for about 5 months now...I have 3 males and 4 females at the moment..I am trying to convince my parents to allow me to buy some new stock to start spawning :P But for now I have these...

10 Gallo Tank- 4females- Aquanon Filter
And each male is in a 1gallon but I will soon be upgrading to a ten gallon divided tank when I have made some reinforcements on my bookcase where all my tanks are going to be..

So some questions I have, and sorry in advance that I dont have any pictures yet, will take some tonight and post them up but...

Betta Conformation..I would just like to now the basics of it because it seems complex...

I have a HM that has some fin rot...Is there any chance he can grow them back..?

And If I were to divide a ten gallon...How many males do you think would be able to fit in them...?

As for the fin rot, they will grow back just not quite the same. Id say you could divide the tank 4 ways giving them all 2.5 g which is more then enough.

If you want to get into breeding I would highly recommend joining IBC, They have a great knowledge base and you can see the standards for show bettas which has almost everything you could want to know about conformation.
I does cost money but it's totally worth it.

I would advise you to spend months reseraching breeding, if you havent already...
Breeding is a HUGE investment of time and money. If youre not ready to re-home hundreds of nicely colored and tailed fry, then I wouldnt do it.

If youre working with less popular tails, reconsider, too- in-demand bettas are hard enough to place in and of themselves- let alone the kinds people arent too fond of atm!

Just sayin'. A lot of people (unfortunatley) get into it and end up with severely injured bettas, dead bettas, dead fry, or unhomeable fry. :(
