Females have as much personality as the boys do.

Yeah I do have a question though...

My mom and dad went to Petco earlier today in order for the money to be refunded on our last betta's they had to take a sample of Kaida's old tank water and the test came back perfect...That we could put another betta in but I'm not sure if we should do that if Kaida was sick.

Is it safe to put another betta in it?

You had them in 1-2 gallon jars right? Were they plastic or glass? If they were plastic, that could have been the issue. If they are glass, then that should be fine.

I would say since it isn't cycled or anything, put all the decor in the tank/jar and fill it with water and vinegar. Let it soak for about a day, and then rinse everything in hot water several times. Then, set it back up, add water, and then fish.

It really is great that your family encourages your fish-keeping. I have a beautiful crowntail female. She's a metallic blue-green. Now I've had her over six weeks, and her fins are absolutely beautiful!! And she truly is personality plus...She's very animated and responsive, and I really enjoy her!

I always wash everything with hot water and vinegar after a fish dies before re-using it.

have fun with the female! I have a soft spot for the girlies, they're just so cute and spunky. :P

Thanks! I'll rally the info on the vineger as well. My mom had cleaned Kalona's old tank with just super hot water since it was glass and did the same to the decor and gravel.

Thanks guys.
