I'm pleased to introduce Ōji

I've posted a few times over the last few days, well i finally got my fish today. I looked at a lot of the fish in the store an some were brightly coloured and some weren't, i mostly looked at their condition and how active they were when approached. I finally settled on this little guy, his new name is Ōji. I believe he is a crowntail but please correct me if i am wrong. I thought i'd share a few pics of his first introduction to his new home. He was vibrant blue in teh store but obviously the ride home took it out of him.

Here he is getting acclimatized, i hope i did this right, he seems fine.


Here he is settling into his new tank and exploring everything.


I do have one tiny question though, how do i get rid of those bubbles? and will they affect him at all?

Awe he's adorable! What beautiful coloring. His tank set up is great, good job. Those bubbles will go away on their own after a couple days, always happens after setting up a new tank or doing a 100% water change. ^^

Thanks. I'm being so paranoid about everything, i've already checked the water quality twice since the first time i got high reading for some things, i guess it just needed time to settle down.

I'm glad the bubbles ill go away, and yes his colouring is lovely, it was even brighter in the store so here's to hoping he brightens back up in the next few days.

You can stick your hand in the tank and wipe them off the surfaces of things, it's normally advised for some reason. o.O

Okay, i was trying to let him settle without disturbing him too much tonight so i'll wipe the surfaces down tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Very nice! I would suggest at least getting one tall, silk plant for him to rest on and maybe a cave so he can hide. It looks a bit bare. He's definitely a crowntail, and a very pretty one!

I always got a plastic knife and scooped the bubbles off the side.
