Both of the Walmart Stores located quite a distance from where I live; But, in much larger cities are closing down selling fish. I don't know the story behind this decision. It might be that fish livestock is just not selling in these areas or it might be from far too many complaints to management about their fish care. I am just curious as to what is happening at other Walmart locations around the country.

I have 3 Walmarts, the one closest to my house does have fish, they sell well, the one that is about 5-10 minutes away, has no fish, and the 3rd, I'm not. I think they might.

In Oceanside, California there are no more fish. Any old store they turn into a superstore (groceries sold too) they get rid of the fish section. In Palm Desert, CA the walmart is huuuuuuuuge so it's a grocery store and has the fish.

In Canada or at least Ontario, none of the walmarts have sold fish for about 5 years now.

I've never seen fish in my Walmarts in either New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

I'm not sure how many in PA actually sell fish, but the one closest to me certainly does. :( They haven't been getting very many bettas in lately though, so maybe they will shut it down.

One of the walmarts near me is relocating their pet department, so they have decided to stop selling fish. It makes me happy!!

Yep. There was one Walmart that was selling fish for a while, but now that it`s being renovated they stopped too.

my local walmart stopped selling fish nearly 10 years ago. now, they just sell bettas, but i'm on a mission to make their lives miserable with that sudden decision. i keep an eye on them, and make any excuse i can to go to walmart with my mom. the moment things look bad(ie, dirty water, dead fish, two fish in one cup, disease, ect), i'm e-mailing the store. mom may be annoyed with it, but i don't care. she'll learn soon enough, that i love bettas, and hate the abuse they got to live with at walmart.

i used to work at walmart and we always had mice in the pet dept from lack of care about open bags etc. Our pet guy ( they used to actually have one assigned pet person now its just whoever can catch fish ) He used to try so hard our fish would come in with ich and fin rot he would medicate and put up no sell signs but the fish would be sold anyway (management) now everytime i pass by the tanks at walmart i glance in and there covered in ich you couldnt pay me to buy fish from walmart
