Went to Wal-Mart-

Came home with a new buddy. ^^ I'm acclimating my new Crowntail betta named Akira (Touya) after the Go character. He's a smart little fish.

He's so beautiful. It was so hard deciding between him and all the ones that needed help but we wanted the healthiest and I kept coming back to Akira. He was amongst the new shipment and it was tough picking my little finned friend especially since they had another smaller crowntail that was a metallic green all over him. He was really pretty but he just....Didn't feel right. He flared very little unlike Akira who flared at everything and everyone...Except for me. I carried him out wrapped in my jacket. I love him so much already.

Plus he's a Double-Forked Crowntail. Those are rare right? His rays are just amazing. He's got this turqoise wash on him. As soon as he's settled I'll post pics.

What's a double-forked crowntail?

It's also called a Double-Ray Crowntail, but it means that instead of the ray sticking out once, it does it twice, like a fork shape. Kinda hard to explain, and I dont wanna spam the thread with photos :P Google it! :P

OP, Cant wait for pics! :D

Thanks! I just posted picks of my little ninja fish in the picture forum. He's so hard to catch on film. XD I think I need to get a brighter colored gravel.

I almost did the same thing!
went into the pet store to look for freeze dried bloodworms, of course had to look at the bettas. There was one double ray there that caught my eye, puffed up and had one heck of a bubble nest built in his container.
Sigh, if only I wasn't leaving in a months time
